A Recipe for Fun

Are you ready to make some memories on Memorial Day weekend?

Does opening your home and serving friends and family seem overwhelming? Too burdensome? Just not worth the effort?

May I encourage you to change your mindset?

Holidays are a natural time to build relationships and stockpile sweet memories. Opening our homes doesn’t have to be stressful or overwhelming. With just a little bit of planning and pre-work you can relax, laugh, and enjoy sweet fellowship.

Trust me! It’s really not that hard. I remember the days of having 8 kids under 13 years old. I was always busy. Always doing laundry. Always changing diapers. Always tired.

There were times that having people over just seemed like heaping on an already over-burdened schedule.

But, when I went ahead and opened my home…

I was always blessed beyond measure! My constantly draining cup was filled. I ended our time together refreshed, rejuvenated, and reenergized.

It was totally worth it!

Here’s the key…

Don’t overdo and you won’t come undone!!

Plan a simple buffet bar. Put out plates, silverware, and napkins. Provide plenty of ice cold drinks. And, there you go… A party ready to happen!

Obviously, if you have some extra time, fresh flowers in a Mason jar and balloons tied to chairs will add to the festive mood, but those are EXTRAS… not the essentials!

It doesn’t have to be Pinterest perfect.

Start with friends and acquaintances…

Add some yummy food…

Slow down and enjoy sweet laughter.

There you have it! The perfect recipe for a day of the 3 Essentials of Life…

Food…

Fun…

and

Fellowship

Happy partying,

Megan
